Setting Teamprise Preferences

You set your Teamprise/TFS source control preferences in the Preferences dialog located under the Teamprise Tools menu. There are five Teamprise dialogs from which you can customize Teamprise tasks.

In the Source Control dialog you can set a default lock level. You use this setting to restrict multiple check-outs which locks files to other users when a file is checked out in your TFS workspace, or you can set check-outs to be less restrictive. The TFS lock settings may override these preferences. Check with your TFS administrator for the lock level on a specific Team project.

The Source Control dialog also allows you to set check-outs to always automatically retrieve the latest version from the server before checking out. Enabling Automatically get the latest version before check out ensures that each time you check a file out for editing you are checking out the latest in the source control repository.

When you enable Hide the "All files are up to date" option, no dialog will appear when you issue a Get Latest on a project or directory; meaning there will be no feedback if the local and remote repositories are synchronized, only if they are not.

When you enable "Confirm before checking in", which is the default, a dialog will prompt you to confirm changes before committing them to TFS.

Use the Work Item Tracking dialog to specify how you wish to open attachments.

The Explorer dialog allows you to customize the look of the Teamprise window. You may also specify automatic login so you are not prompted each time you launch Teamprise Explorer.

Use the Web dialog to specify an internal or external web browser for html files.

The license number you entered when you purchased Teamprise is visible when you select the License dialog. You may also obtain a demonstration license or purchase a license from this dialog. Restoring defaults will restore the original license if you accidentally delete it.
