Adding and saving a work item query

To save a new Work Item Query:

  1. Click Add Query from one of the context menus and build your query. (See the MSDN documentation Add Query, Query Operators, and Query Variables for complete instructions on building a query.)
  2. From the Eclipse File menu click Save.
  3. In the Save Query As dialog, give your query a name and select a directory in which to save your query, either Team Queries or My Queries, or you can save the query to your local machine as a .wiq file.
  4. Click Save.

Return to the Team Explorer view and expand the target directory to see your new query. If your query does not immediately appear, right-click the Team project or the Work Items directory and click Refresh to see the new query in the tree.

Note: Teamprise does not currently support the copy query task from the Team Explorer tree; however, you may open an existing query, modify it, and save it under a new name. Teamprise does not support the Delete query task. Queries must be deleted by your TFS Administrator.
