Comparing versions

When files in the repository differ from files in your local working folder you can examine these differences in the Teamprise Compare Editor. The Compare tool opens from the Source Control and context menus as well as from a number of source control dialogs. You can select it from the following dialogs:

To compare versions of files:

  1. Right-click a file or folder in your Source Control view and click Compare...

  2. The Compare dialog inserts the path to the files you wish to compare. In the example below, we chose to compare a local file to the Latest Version of it on the server. You may also chose to compare a file to a Changeset version, Date, Label, and Workspace Version. For an explanation of version types and their associated dialogs, see the User Guide section, Selecting a Version Type from the version drop-down menu. Click OK.

  3. In the Teamprise Compare editor the differences between the files are highlighted. You can navigate these differences by using the up and down arrows located in the upper right section of the Compare window. The window displays a small rectangular box to the right of the scroll bar indicating where the differences exist between the two files.

Note: You can edit the local version only if it is already checked out (as when you try a check-in and need to merge changes).
